Neonatal Medical Services
Neonatology care is provided by Coastal Carolina Neonatology (CCN) in Wilmington, North Carolina, a division of Coastal Children’s Services. Our physicians and nurse practitioners provide neonatal medical services at the Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Onslow Memorial Hospital, The Naval Hospital at Camp LeJeune and Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Our neonatology staff consists of 7 Neonatologists and 18 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP). The medical team is trained and skilled in the care of critically ill newborns, and provides neonatal intensive care services for the region.
The neonatal unit (NICU) is a modern, 45-bed, all private room facility. Complimenting our unit’s progressive design is CCN’s progressive, research-based approach to treatment. In addition to offering the latest evidence-based approach to treatments and therapies, we regularly participate in clinical research with other neonatal centers across the country, the results of which directly benefit premature or critically ill newborns. Our neonatologists enjoy academic appointment at the UNC School of Medicine, and each has academic or administrative interests, including: quality improvement, neuroprotection, neonatal ethics, clinical research, and developmental follow-up.
When your baby is in the NICU, you want to know he/she is in the best environment possible.
After your baby is discharged from the NICU, he/she may see our specialists in the NICU Follow-Up Clinic.
Our transport team will get your critically ill baby moved from one hospital to another safely and professionally.
