If you have think you have been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of of fever, cough or shortness of breath, call your healthcare provider or N.C. Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 Hotline at (866) 462-3821
for guidance.

Before visiting any healthcare facility, you must call ahead so that they can plan safety precautions to prevent the spread of infection during your visit.

Virtual Visits at the Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinics

As we all navigate through the coronovirus, we want to make you aware that in the interest of health and safety, the clinical providers at Coastal Children’s Services are now able to offer our patients virtual visits in place of your scheduled in-person visit at the NHRMC Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinic, so that your child may receive the care he/she needs from the comfort of your own home. These virtual visits are now covered by major medical insurers and Medicaid.

In order to participate in this format, you will need to have access to a device with a camera, such as a home computer, a tablet or a smart phone. If you have a scheduled in-person visit, the scheduler will call you prior to your visit to give you the option for a telehealth visit, in place of your scheduled visit. This option is only available for existing patients. The telehealth visit will be billed the same as an in-person visit.

Our number one priority is the health of our patients and we want to be sure you have the access to care without interruption.

Covid Testing

At the Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinic, we are only doing in-house COVID testing for, asymptomatic pediatric patients, undergoing surgeries that involve aerosol procedures. We are not doing any symptomatic, PUI or contact tracing COVID testing in the clinic.

Please contact the New Hanover County Health Department as they are offering COVID Testing. The County plans to continue open air testing on Wednesday, Thursdays, and Fridays by appointment as they have been, but they will move the site from the Schwartz Center downtown  to the Scottish Rite Temple on 17th St. beginning next week. The process will be the same:

Call the Coronavirus Call Center at 910-798-6800 (lines are open Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Speak with a Public Health nurse, share symptoms, and then be scheduled for a COVID-19 test (appts start at 1pm).
